Ross and Maureen love their home on the Coast and spend a lot of time entertaining friends and family. When they bought their home 19 years ago renovations were made in the kitchen and bathrooms but their kitchen had always felt too small and the ceilings too low. They’d been considering a renovation because they wanted a change and Maureen wanted the dream kitchen she never had. The pandemic gave them a visitor free period, so they grabbed the opportunity with both hands.
4 Bed Waterfront Home
They invited Greg from Castle Construction to quote and they were impressed by how positive he was. Other builders had told them the ceiling couldn’t be done but Greg was certain he could get more height and helped with ideas for a larger kitchen. Nothing was “too hard”. Maureen and Ross were immediately confident with Greg, it felt different dealing with him. He was very professional and gave us a very detailed quotation and plan.
To achieve the look and feel Greg and the team got to work:
- Removing the kitchen, tiling, internal walls and low ceilings (pushed them up and moved services to give them a higher ceiling).
- Kitchen area – new internal walls and ceilings to create a bigger and better kitchen area, tiling, new kitchen, electrical, painting, plumbing
- Removing and renovating two ensuites
- Creating a new master walk in robe
- Adding an internal wall to create an additional ground floor bedroom
- Reconfiguring walls and creating an ensuite where the master walk in robe used to be
We’re delighted with our new home.
The new kitchens and bathrooms are great and we are very happy that we choose Castle Construction for the building work. We hope to do further renovations in the future and would certainly use Castle Construction again. We were made to feel like their most important client, even if we weren't, and there was always someone looking after us throughout the process. We were never left to sort out anything by ourselves and Greg was never too busy to answer our queries. I cannot recommend Castle Construction highly enough.
Although they were eager about their new look home, Maureen and Ross weren’t looking forward to the renovation process itself. Past projects had gone over time and budget and the memories of brick dust still give them nightmares.
Although they were confident with Greg, they covered their possessions and hoped for the best. They didn’t need to because Greg’s team were so professional at containing their workspace hardly any dust strayed into the rest of the house. It was obvious Greg has an excellent relationship with all the trades he uses. Everyone was professional, arrived when they were supposed to and did a high-quality job.
The end result was a large kitchen with a much better ceiling height, just as Maureen and Ross wanted. The bathroom renovations were incredibly smooth and they were finished perfectly. Nothing was too much trouble for Greg and to add to their delight the job was completed on time and under budget.
